In addition to fishing boats, Hurricane Rita also damaged many private pleasure craft, including these yachts that were tossed up onto a parking lot by storm surges at Sabine Pass, Texas. The red writing spray-painted onto the vessel in the foreground indicates that this vessel has been inspected by a survey crew looking for people potentially trapped inside. Similar writing appears on the doors of houses in this area, and alerts other crews that a structure has already been surveyed.
