Debris on South Padre Island, Texas, 19 October 2005. Most of the debris appears to be river cane, probably from coastal Louisiana as a result of Hurricane Katrina and/or Rita. Containers such as totes and barrels are also appearing on Texas beaches. Source: Texas General Land Office
