Posting Date 2007-May-28

On Sunday, May 27th, the whales were found in the morning north of the Rio Vista
Bridge near Channel Marker 36A. The rescue team continued to conduct health assessments
and behavioral observations and was able to gently swab the whales' skin with a sponge
pad and collect samples to investigate the whales' skin condition.

In the early afternoon, the whales began moving south and passed under the Rio Vista
Bridge. They continued to move south at a steady pace and were last seen south of
Channel Marker 3 near the confluence of the Sacramento River and the San Joaquin River.

As of Monday morning, May 28th, the whales have traveled about 25 miles south since
yesterday afternoon, and have been seen today near the Benicia Bridge. Efforts are
underway to continue the health assessments and behavioral obervations.
