On the morning of June 6, 2009, NOAA ERD was contacted by MSU Morgan City regarding a sheen offshore of Louisiana from an unknown source. The sheen was reported as approximately 10 miles by 4 miles. The reported position is approximately 65 nm from the nearest shoreline.
