F/V Sheila Rene

On the evening of Friday, 1/1/10, the F/V Sheila Renee ran aground outside of Oregon Inlet, NC. She is a 77 foot long, 179,000 gt vessel, carrying 4000 gal of diesel fuel plus over a hundred gallons of engine oil, and hydraulic fluid. Vessel located about 150 yards from Bonner Bridge. Vessel slowly drifting towards bridge. Incident has been federalized by NPFC. RP does not have funds to cover costs of getting salvage vessel on-scene. USCG is in the process of contracting with salvage company to get salvage vessel on-scene.
